This week on The Balanced Boss Mom Podcast, I had the privilege of sitting down with Joy Jacobsen, the founder of Joyous Origins and a powerful voice in the family-building community. Joy’s story is both deeply personal and incredibly inspiring—one that so many moms and families can relate to.

Joy currently works full-time in Public Health and holds a master’s degree in Epidemiology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has also partnered with Infertility Unfiltered for over a year, where she provides guidance, support, and advocacy for those walking through difficult fertility journeys.

As an adoptee herself and now a parent to a donor-conceived child, Joy understands firsthand the complexities of identity, family, and resilience.
