In this episode of the Balance Boss Mom podcast, host Erika engages in a heartfelt conversation with children's author Kelly Turner about the importance of kindness, creativity, and the journey of motherhood.
They discuss Kelly's experiences as an educator, the inspiration behind her book 'The Little Rainbow Who Lost Its Colors', and practical tips for parents to encourage reading and kindness in their children. The conversation emphasizes the significance of role modeling positive behavior and the impact of small acts of kindness in everyday life.
Kelly Turner is a passionate and talented author and educator with over 14 years of experience in the classroom. She is a skilled storyteller, which has enabled her to bring her stories to life through her books. Allowing children to use their imagination opens up many opportunities for learning and growth, which can foster a love of reading.
Kelly Turner developed a passion for reading and writing from a young age, which has helped to mold her into a children's author. The Little Rainbow Who Lost Its Colors was inspired by my students. Watching my students display acts of kindness towards one another daily motivated me to pick up a pen and begin writing. Kelly Turner's mission is to build a relationship between the reader and the story. When the reader opens the book, they become part of it. They get lost in the pages and can't wait to turn the next one. They fall in love with reading!
